Official Language

The official language of the conference is English and will be used for all presentations and printed materials.

Passport and Visa

All foreign visitors desiring to enter Taiwan must have a valid passport. Follow the link on the right hand side of this page for Visa Information. No funds are available to assist with travel and registration fees cannot be waived. If, for some reason, your visa application is denied, your registration fees will be refunded to you in full.

Climate

Kaohsiung enjoys a subtropical climate with warm weather all year round. It is extremely suitable for traveling in November as its average temperature is 26°C/79°F, 32°C/90°F highest, according to 2016 record.

Currency Exchange

The currency of Taiwan is the New Taiwan Dollar (NT$). Foreign currencies can be exchanged at the banks, airport and hotels.

Traveler's Checks and Credit Cards

Major credit cards (Visa, Master, JCB, AMEX) are widely accepted, and traveler’s checks may be accepted by tourist-oriented shops and at most international tourist hotels and banks.  Banks open whole day from 09:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday and closed at weekend and public holidays.

Tipping Standards

Tipping is not customary in most of places in Taiwan but consumer taxes are included in the tag price. There will be 10% or 15% extra charge of tax or service fee in all four-, five-star hotels and restaurants.

Electricity

Taiwan uses an electric current of 110 volts at 60 cycles. Visitors with appliances of different voltages are highly advised to bring an adapter.

Conference Attire

Attire during the duration of the conference is business casual.

Cellular Phones, Pagers and Watch Alarms

As a courtesy to our speakers and other attendees, please turn off any cellular phones, pagers and watch alarms during sessions.

Smoking

All meeting rooms and seated functions are smoke free. Please adhere to the smoking policy of the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center.
