There were 6 plenary speakers and 66 contributed oral presentations, which were given in dual track sessions as well as 454 posters. The industrial exhibition featured 31 booths and table tops.

The conference took place at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. Thanks to Katharine Cline and her PMMI team the conference organization went smoothly.

Plenary presentations explored core and new application areas of μTAS, including systems for drug delivery, tissue engineering; cell growth, and individual genes and proteins; new tools and opportunities in microfabrication, microfluidics, and biomedicine; molecular motors and bearings; and single-molecule reactions.
The first ever CBMS board meeting was held during the Boston μTAS.
Two printed books with 1566 pages, plus CD.
More than 830 abstracts had been submitted to the meeting and the committee accepted 520 of these (63% acceptance).
Delegates enjoyed an ‘Evening in the Stars’ at the Skywalk on the 50th floor of the Prudential Tower with 360 degree panoramic views of the city. There was live music from a band consisting entirely of μTAS attendees.
